As a part-time warehouse employee at Royal FloraHolland, your role as an order picker begins early at 5:45 a.m., giving you time to prepare your equipment and enjoy a coffee or tea. At 6:00 a.m., the team gathers for a briefing where important updates are shared. Afterwards, you’ll start working alongside your colleagues.
What does the order picker position involve? You’ll operate an electric cart to retrieve flower trolleys from the warehouse. Then, you connect the cart to your headset, which provides instructions on where to deliver the flowers. The headset guides you from one location to another, indicating how many buckets to move at each stop. When your cart is empty, you pick up another and continue this cycle with your team until all trolleys are processed.
Your finishing time depends on the day’s workload. Typically, you’ll wrap up between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., though some days may end slightly earlier or later.
